  The Beginning
It would seem that fate brought
Linda and John together after
disengaging themselves from
their respective travelling parties
to visit a Kafka exhibition while
exploring Prague. It was here, at
the entrance of the exhibition,
where they met for the first time,
and they immediately hit it off.
“By the time we’d been round the
exhibition, we’d exchanged emails
and phone numbers”, reveals the
blushing bride. A year later, they
were living together in London,
and one year after that, John
popped the question while visiting
family in the Lake District.
“We were out walking through the
beautiful countryside and he just
pulled the ring out of nowhere!”

The Outfits
Linda wanted a dress with a touch
of 17th century elegance to reflect
the old and charismatic wedding
venue. Lucky for Linda, a close
friend was able to design and

make her an original gown,
incorporating Linda’s
requirements and creating
a beautifully classic, fairytale-
like dress. John opted for a
princely suit from Reiss,
while some family members
couldn’t resist the lure of the
traditional Scottish kilt.

The Reception
Accompanied by the sound of
bagpipes, John and Linda made
their way from the ceremony
down the candle-lit winding
staircase. After gathering in the
elegant breakfast room, with its
impressive chandeliers and large
Georgian windows, the wedding
party dined on a favourite menu
selection from Edinburgh’s
acclaimed catering company,
Prestige Scotland, which consisted
of smoked haddock baked with
rice and mushrooms in pastry,
beef stroganoff and a selection of
vegetables and salads, followed by
fresh raspberries for dessert.

The Memories
“We had many guests from all
over the world and they were
all speechless when they saw
our wedding venue,” says the
bride. “The castle added even
more magic to the special day,
and the fairytale setting made
everyone feel like royalty.” Indeed,
Linda’s advice for any bride-to-
be stresses the importance of
that special wedding day setting.
“Your wedding gives you that rare
opportunity to live like a princess
for a day, so where better to get
married than in a castle?!”
